Musselburgh and District Athletic Club is a community club open to adult runners and children who want to train and compete in athletics events. We welcome new members regardless of age or ability. Our Jog Scotland group welcomes beginners and people who are aiming to get back into running. Junior members have the opportunity to take part in a range of athletics events – jumps, sprints, hurdles, distance running and throws. The club is affiliated and accredited by Scottish Athletics.
You don’t have to live in Musselburgh to join the club. We welcome new members from other parts of East Lothian, Midlothian and from Edinburgh.
The club has linked up with sportswear firm Viga to provide kit including t-shirts, vests, jackets, hats etc. All sizes available for juniors and seniors and kit can be ordered directly through the link below and delivered to your home address.
The club has a small supply of club T-shirts and vests if you would like to try before you buy. Please contact us.
The Club was re-launched in October 1999, building on an honourable history of club athletics in Musselburgh from the launching of ‘Lewisvale Spartans’ in 1956. The club then became ‘Lothian Athletics’, then ‘Musselburgh Athletic Club’ and is now ‘Musselburgh and District Athletic Club’.
We are a community club run by volunteers comprised of club members, parents and coaches who plan and co-ordinate the Club’s activities. The Committee is elected at the AGM. The current office bearers are listed below. Committee meetings take place approximately every 8 weeks and are open to all Club members. If you are interested in joining the Committee or want to find out more just ask one of the present members. There are always opportunities to join our committee and we always need as much help as possible is to make our popular, annual Festival race as successful as possible. We receive great feedback on our organisation and support provided to runners by our marshals.
The Club’s current office bearers are:
Chairperson: Andy Duncan
Secretary: Gillian Brunton
Treasurer: Aileen Wheadon
Membership Secretary: Lindsay Anderson
Welfare Officer: Sarah Nicholson
